2006-2009 School Improvement Project
SCHEDULE AND SCOPE OF WORK
Background. The following schedule and focus questions were used to conduct school improvement team meetings for developing our 2006-2009 school improvement plan. The meetings were supported by email exchanges and small group meetings to develop drafts between the scheduled meetings.
Meeting One: Monday - 24 April 2006 - 4:00 - 6:00 pm

Focus: Why develop a school improvement plan?
  1. What is our vision of school improvement?

  2. What is the mission of our school?

  3. What is unique about our school?

  4. What do our graduates know and what can they do?

  5. What are our improvement goals, including data sources?

  6. How can we share our draft plan and receive input from our stakeholders?
Meeting Two: Monday - 8 May 2006 - 4:00 - 6:00 pm

Focus: How will we carry out our school improvement plan?
  1. Improvement goals and objectives

  2. Action plan framework

  3. Management plan framework

Meeting Three: Monday - 22 May 2006 - 4:00 - 6:00 pm

Focus: Who is responsible for specific activities and results?
  1. Specific action plan activities, responsibilities, and schedule

  2. Specific management plan
Meeting Four: Tuesday - 30 May 2006 - 4:00 - 6:00 pm

Focus: What remains to be done to complete our first draft?
  1. Missing components

  2. Editing content and printing the complete first draft
Final Product: A final copy of the 2006-2009 school improvement plan
